Host System: Thinkpad T23, 512MB RAM, CPU 1GHz.

Fresh installation Kubuntu 7.10:

_ just booted -> 65MB RAM free

_ launching Firefox + OpenOffice Writer -> 20 MB free

Fresh installation Debian Testing Lenny:

_ just booted -> 320MB RAM free

_ launching Firefox + OpenOffice Writer -> 190 MB free
